The MPC60 is the original MPC designed by Roger Linn. The MPC60 was released in 1988 the MPC60 became the new standard for sampling and sequencing, not only in Hip Hop and R&B music but Techno and electronic dance music genres as well. The 4x4 velocity and aftertouch sensitive soft pad grid make for quick intuitive touch interface for writing rhythm and melodic MIDI patterns.
The Sequencer features 20 songs, 99 sequences, 99 tracks, and a 60,000 note capacity. The sampler features 12-bit sampling at 40KHz and 768KB of memory for up to 13.1 seconds of sample time, expandable up to 1.5MB for up to 26.2 seconds of memory with 16 voice polyphony and up to 32 sounds.
